Canada. We wrote letters to Trudeau about these,
communicated with him. One of the fun evenings
was a Monday night that Marshall McLuhan was
having dinner with Trudeau in Toronto. He came to
me that afternoon, he said, “Bob, I have a favour
to ask of you.” “Sure Marshall, what is it?” I said.
“I’d like you to run my seminar tonight.” I said,
“Woo!” This was like, the king saying, “I’d like you
to sit on my throne with my crown for an hour.” I
said, “That would be a great privilege.” He said
“Well, I’m having dinner tonight,”—and then a smile
came across his face—“with Pierre Elliot Trudeau.”
